Miss Brea Scholarship Pageant

The newly remodeled Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center on Birch St. in Brea was the location for the First Annual Miss Brea Princess Program Friday, May 2, 2008.  The Miss Brea Scholarship Pageant, a franchised affiliate of the Miss America Pageant, hosted the first ever Miss Brea Princess Program in cooperation with the Miss America/Miss California Princess Programs.  The Princess Program is open to young girls from the age of 5 - 12.  This year four Miss Brea Princesses were chosen. Caterina Gonzalez, age 7, Alyse Vandermeer, age 10, Karissa Landreth, age 7, and Rebecca Richey, age 10 1/2. All participants received princess gift bags, princess jewelry, sashes and crowns.

Karissa Landreth, was chosen as Miss Brea's Glamorous Princess & Rebecca Richey, was chosen as Miss Brea's Sweetie Pie Princess. All Miss Brea Princesses will be invited to attend several civic events through out the year with Kelsey Dysart, Miss Brea 2008. Two Miss Brea Princesses, Caterina Gonzalez & Alyse Vandermeer, are going to participate in this years Miss California Pageant production in Fresno, CA this June along side Kelsey Dysart, Miss Brea 2008. Caterina Gonzalez, Miss Brea Princess 2008, loves to dance, act, model, play soccer and swim at the Brea Plunge.  Caterina can be seen in the up coming movie, "Hitting the Bricks" by Brian T. Jaynes. Caterina was supported by her mom and sister at the event. Alyse Vandermeer, Miss Brea Princess 2008, loves playing tennis, listening to the Beetles, dancing to Jack Johnson, going to Color Me Mind on Downtown Birch St. and eating at the Market City Cafe in Brea. Alyse was supported by her mom, sister and aunt at the event.

Mark your calendars for Dec. 13th, when the Miss Brea Scholarship Pageant together with the Brea Community Center will present a fun filled pageant workshop day called "Queen for a Day" for girls between the ages of 5 - 16. All who attend the workshops during the day will participate that evening in a mock pageant production open to the public.

The Miss Brea Scholarship Pageant, (a franchise affiliate of the Miss America/Miss California Pageants), is proud to announce the First Annual Miss Brea Princess Program in cooperation with the Miss California Princess Program.

Miss Brea Princess Program will chose two young ladies to represent the City of Brea along side of Miss Brea 2008, Kelsey Dysart, at the 2008 Miss California Pageant from June 24- 28, 2008 in Fresno, California. These young ladies will have the opportunity to participate in the Miss California production as part of the Miss California Princess Program, a mentoring and learning process. The two 2008 Miss Brea Princesses will participate along with other local city princesses from all across the state of California.

Activities at the Miss California Pageant may include but may not be limited to; Participation on-stage in the Miss California's Outstanding Teen Opening Number, Participation on-stage in the Miss California Evening Wear or On-Stage Question Competition with your Miss California contestant, Participation on-stage in the Princess Production Number at the Miss California finals, June 28th, no-host luncheon with Miss Brea 2008 and all other contestants, Princess Tea Party, Princess Pajama Party, Princess Pool Party.
